Winter 2 Day Escape - Lake District - Keswick

  • Day 1: 10 miles, 300ft ascent (Catbells optional)
  • Day 2: 6 miles, 1,400ft ascent
  • Great for: Beginner hikers wanting to level up to intermediate
  • Starting time: 9am (both days)
  • Finish times: 3pm (both days)

  • Accommodation recommendation: Anything in the Keswick area

** Each Small Group will run with a minimum of 3 participants. If the minimum has not been met 24 hours before the hike, we will reach out and refund, reschedule or make alternate arrangements.

What to expect

This two-day winter walking escape is based in Keswick and focuses on exploring the surrounding landscape using low-level routes that are ideal for the colder months. We'll follow a mix of valley paths, woodland trails, and smaller but beautiful fells, with steady climbs and plenty of variety underfoot. Each day offers a few hours of walking with regular pauses to take in the views and the quiet of the Lakes in winter.

The routes are chosen to suit the season, rewarding but manageable, without heading into the high fells. There's plenty of time to chat, share the experience with others, and enjoy moving through the landscape as part of a group.

Whether you come along with friends or on your own, it's a relaxed way to meet new people and spend some proper time outdoors. By the end of the event, you'll have covered some ground, seen the Lakes at one of its quietest times, and hopefully had a few good conversations along the way.

Absolutely! 90% of our participants are solo hikers and adventurers. We pride ourselves on getting together like minded folk to create laughs, memories, and friendships! So there's no need to feel worried about your first experience, or indeed trying a new type of outdoor activity, with us.

For each hike we calculate a suitable time based on the distance and terrain. We do our very best to accommodate the speed of the group we are leading, whilst providing the encouragement needed to complete the challenge.
