What to expect

The Lakeland 25km is a proper day out in the fells, covering around 14.2 miles with roughly 3,500ft of ascent. Starting in Grasmere, we head straight up into the Langdale Pikes where most of the climbing is done early on. You'll tick off a few Wainwrights along the way, with classic Lakeland terrain underfoot and some of the best views in the area.

From there, the route eases as we drop down and pick up the Cumbria Way towards Elterwater, passing through the village and up to the quarry before looping back to Grasmere. It's a full but manageable day, with a steady pace, plenty of breaks, and a good mix of challenge and enjoyment throughout.
