View Hikes ListThe Scottish Highlands offer some of the most dramatic and unforgettable mountain walking in the UK. This vast and wild region is home to ancient glens, towering peaks, deep lochs and sweeping ridgelines. Whether you are climbing your first Munro or seeking a multi day challenge, Trekking Tom Experiences provides expert guided walks across this breathtaking part of the country.
Hiking in the Highlands is a true adventure. The mountains here are bigger, the weather more changeable, and the paths often less defined than in other parts of the UK. That is why we focus on creating safe, well planned and flexible experiences led by qualified Mountain Leaders with experience in remote terrain. Every walk is carefully adapted to suit the group, the conditions and the aims of the day.
We offer a range of walking experiences in the Scottish Highlands. These include open group hikes on classic routes, as well as private guided days and custom itineraries for individuals, couples or groups. From single day ascents to multi day adventures, we help you explore the Highlands with confidence and care. Some of the popular areas we guide in include Glencoe, the Mamores, Torridon, the Cairngorms and the Nevis Range. You might take on a well known summit like Ben Nevis, Buachaille Etive Mor or Liathach, or explore quieter routes through Glen Affric, Glen Shiel or the far north. If you are collecting Munros, we can help you safely reach your next summit while enjoying the experience along the way.
In addition to guided hikes, we also offer skills training in the Highlands. This includes navigation courses, mountain safety sessions and coaching for those preparing for independent trips. The Highlands are a great classroom and we make sure your learning is practical, supportive and suited to your experience level. We guide year round, adapting routes to suit the season and the weather. Summer brings longer days and big views. Autumn paints the hills in deep colour. Spring can still offer snow on the summits, while winter offers a more serious and technical challenge that may require specialist equipment and planning.
We always assess conditions carefully and guide within our safety limits. Before each walk, we provide a full kit list and trip information. We carry all required safety equipment including maps, compasses, group shelters and first aid supplies. Every walk is designed to be enjoyable as well as safe, with time to take in the views, learn about the area and move at a pace that suits the group.
At Trekking Tom Experiences we believe in creating high quality walking days that allow you to explore the Highlands in a relaxed, supportive and respectful way. Whether you are visiting for the first time or returning to complete a long term goal, we are here to guide you through some of the most spectacular scenery the UK has to offer.
