View Hikes ListThe Peak District is the oldest national park in the UK and offers some of the most accessible and rewarding walking in the country. From dramatic gritstone edges to rolling green dales, this area is full of contrast and character.
At Trekking Tom Experiences, we offer guided walks throughout the Peak District to help you explore its best trails, learn about its history and enjoy the great outdoors at your own pace. Our guided walks are suitable for a wide range of abilities. Whether you are just starting out or have years of hillwalking experience, there is something here for everyone. We run both open group events and private guided days, each one led by qualified and experienced Mountain Leaders. Our aim is to keep things simple, safe and enjoyable.
The Peak District is divided into two distinct areas, each offering a different kind of experience. The White Peak is known for its limestone valleys, rivers and gentle rolling countryside. Walks here often follow old tracks through picturesque villages, past dry stone walls and through peaceful woodland. In contrast, the Dark Peak is wilder, with open moorland, heather-covered hills and rugged gritstone edges. It offers more of a challenge and some incredible views.
Some of our most popular routes include Kinder Scout via the Grindsbrook path, the circular walk around Stanage Edge, Mam Tor and the Great Ridge, and quieter trails through Lathkill Dale or the Derwent Valley. We also guide full day challenges for those looking to push themselves, such as the Edale Skyline or the Nine Edges walk. In addition to guided walks, we offer outdoor skills training and navigation days in the Peak District. These are ideal for people who want to grow in confidence and learn how to plan and follow their own routes. We provide everything you need to learn in a relaxed and supportive setting, whether you are a complete beginner or looking to refresh your skills.
Every walk with Trekking Tom Experiences is carefully planned and adapted on the day to suit the group and the weather conditions. We always carry the required safety equipment including maps, compasses, group shelters and first aid kits. A full kit list is sent out before each walk so you can feel well prepared. The Peak District is easy to reach and brilliant for day walks, but it also rewards deeper exploration.
Each season brings something new. Spring wildflowers in the limestone dales, summer sunsets from the high ground, autumn colour across the valleys and clear winter days with dramatic skies and frozen paths. We guide here throughout the year. At Trekking Tom Experiences we believe walking should be welcoming, flexible and stress free. Whether you are here to take on a new challenge or simply to enjoy a peaceful day on the trail, we are here to guide you with experience, care and enthusiasm.
