Helvellyn Sunrise

Each Small Group will run with a minimum of 3 participants. If the minimum has not been met 24 hours before the hike, we will reach out and refund, reschedule or make alternate arrangements.

Experiencing a sunrise from Helvellyn, with Thirlmere as your starting point, is a truly remarkable and soul-stirring adventure. As you make your way up the mountain in the pre-dawn darkness, you'll feel a sense of anticipation building up. The tranquility of the surroundings and the crisp mountain air create a serene atmosphere, setting the stage for a memorable experience.

As the first light of dawn breaks, the sky gradually transforms into a canvas of vibrant colors. The reflection of the rising sun on the tranquil waters of Thirlmere adds to the spectacle. From the summit of Helvellyn, you'll witness breathtaking views of the surrounding fells and valleys coming to life with the golden rays of sunlight.

Meeting Instructions:

The meet time will change throughout the year. In the spring/summer months, we will be meeting around 2am - 4am and in the autumn/winter months, we will be meeting between 4am - 6am. This should give us plenty of time to get to the summit and await the sunrise, meeting address is below.
Please note - these are approx meet times, a more accurate time will be given two weeks before the event date.

You will need to read and sign a waiver upon arrival and the car park is approx £7 for parking.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Helvellyn via Thirlmere is a steep mountain route that has a mix of rocky terrain and steep ascents/descents.You should be comfortable walking up to 7 miles and have a reasonably good fitness level. CAN I ATTEND ON MY OWN?
Absolutely! 90% of our participants are solo hikers and adventurers. We pride ourselves on getting together like minded folk to create laughs, memories, and friendships! So there's no need to feel worried about your first experience, or indeed trying a new type of outdoor activity, with us.

IS THERE A TIME LIMIT?
We generally allow up to 5 hours to complete the walk, which is adequate for the majority of participants. We do our very best to accommodate the speed of the group we are leading, whilst providing the encouragement needed to complete the challenge.

ARE THERE TOILETS?
There are toilets at the meeting point in Swirls Car Park, however we can't guarantee availability of opening times.
