FAQ's

BAD WEATHER?
In nearly all instances of bad weather, we will still continue the hike if there is poor visibility, heavy rain and wind. In cases where we have severe winds or thunderstorms forecasted, then I will either cancel the route (arrange for an alternative date) or offer an alternative route at a lower level. Safety is my main priority when hiking in the mountains and with the alternative route, we can still have a fantastic day!

WHAT TO EXPECT
You should be comfortable walking up to 11 miles and have a reasonably good fitness level. The Fairfield Horseshoe is a mountain route with a mix of rocky terrain, grassy paths and steep ascents/descents. If you have any medical conditions, please let me know beforehand.

CAN I ATTEND ON MY OWN?
Absolutely! 90% of our participants are solo hikers and adventurers. We pride ourselves on getting together like minded folk to create laughs, memories, and friendships! So there's no need to feel worried about your first experience, or indeed trying a new type of outdoor activity, with us.

IS THERE A TIME LIMIT?
We generally allow up to 7 hours to complete the walk, which is adequate for the majority of participants. We do our very best to accommodate the speed of the group we are leading, whilst providing the encouragement needed to complete the challenge.

ARE THERE TOILETS?
Unfortunately there are no toilets at the meeting point or on the route, however there are toilets in Ambleside or Keswick.
