FAQ's

BAD WEATHER?
In nearly all instances of bad weather, we will still continue the hike if there is poor visibility, heavy rain and wind. In cases where we have severe winds or thunderstorms forecasted, then I will either cancel the route (arrange for an alternative date) or offer an alternative route at a lower level. Safety is my main priority when hiking in the mountains and with the alternative route, we can still have a fantastic day!

WHAT TO EXPECT?
The Eastern 11 challenge has a feared reputation and is reserved for people with a good level of fitness and is used to hiking at least 12 miles over rough, rocky terrain. We will be moving at a relatively fast pace all day with minimal breaks and should take around 9 hours to complete. The Eastern 11 challenge is a mountain route with a mix of rocky terrain, grassy paths, steep ascents/descents, scrambling and Striding edge (which is a grade 1 scramble). If you have any medical conditions, please let me know beforehand.

CAN I ATTEND ON MY OWN?
Absolutely! 90% of our participants are solo hikers and adventurers. We pride ourselves on getting together like minded folk to create laughs, memories, and friendships! So there's no need to feel worried about your first experience, or indeed trying a new type of outdoor activity, with us.

IS THERE A TIME LIMIT?
As this is a timed event, it needs to be done within 9 hours, which is adequate for the majority of participants. We do our very best to accommodate the speed of the group we are leading, whilst providing the encouragement needed to complete the challenge.

ARE THERE TOILETS?
There are toilets at the meeting point, however we can't guarantee availability of opening times.
